Passive heat demand reduction
Passive heat demand reduction is the: ‘Reduction in heat demands before consideration of the (active) systems used to deliver the heat. Sometimes called ‘point of use’ heat demands. For space heating this would include improving the building envelope and reducing the infiltration of outdoor air.’
